    Welcome Back!

It has been so lovely to see the children looking so smart and keen to tell us stories about the summer. This week the children have returned, looking smart with such positive attitudes towards their learning and the new academic year ahead. Please note going forward, to continue to make our school more eco-friendly, our newsletters will be available on the school website. Bromcom alerts, with direct links will be sent.

Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Safe

You may have heard the children talking about our new school moto. This year, our new team of staff are keen to focus on a new restorative approach to behaviour and learning. We will be focusing a lot on building positive relationships, and looking at how we carefully use our positive alternatives to reactive punitive behaviour methods.

    New Smiles

We are delighted to have some new faces to our team, Miss Coley has joined our team from Lingwood Primary as our new Deputy Headteacher. Ms Bygrave and Mr Nicholson have also moved from within the trust to join us as class teachers and Mr Neill has been appointed as our new class tutor. Please remember we have an open door policy with all of our members of staff, so please book an appointment with the school office if you need to discuss anything.

    Looking Smart

The children have come into school looking incredibly smart this week. Please remember KS2 children need to be wearing a tie with their shirt. A full list of the uniform is on our website. http://www.hendersongreenprimary.co.uk/uniform

Polite ask that if you have any good condition, outgrown uniform please could you bring into the school office for our new class uniform boxes. This year, children will be invited to wear their P.E Kits on P.E days. If you have any problems with uniform, please speak to the office. Class teachers will share this information next week.

    Attendance

As mentioned last year, each half term we will be having attendance tea parties for children who have excellent attendance. This will reset every half term. We will continue to work with families whose attendance falls below expected levels. Please remember gates open from 8.30am. Registration starts at 8:40 and closes at 8:50am. Pupils who arrive after this time will be marked as late. From 9:10 the register will be closed and your child will be marked as absent. School day ends at 3:15pm. Further information on attendance will follow.

    Healthy Eating

Polite reminder, we are a nut free school so please check ingredients carefully. Please also ensure you are packing a nutritional lunchbox. A named water bottle filled with fresh water should also be coming into school everyday.
